Description
For Sale is my Ferrari Mondial T 3. 4 LHD. It is being sold as a project as it will need recommissioning to put it back to to the road but has already had alot of time and money spent on it and it does run and drive.
The Mondial T has a 3. 4 litre engine as found in the Ferrari 348 and is much quicker than the earlier models.
The car had a minor bump in around 1999 but was not subject to any insurance claim - it was repaired but they couldn't get its electronic clutch to operate - It was then put in storage by the previous owner - hence the low mileage of 4000km which was as it was when it was taken off the road - I cannot prove this but I believe to be genuine as it had its original Assymetrico PIRELLI factory tyres and original disc brakes and pads with factory chalk marking. There is its service booklet which has never even had its first service stamped.
The Valeo (electronic clutch) option makes it very rare I believe theres only approximately 40 Mondial cars made with this option and 1 F40. On investigation I believe the gearbox ECU is the issue or a gear selector potentiometer. I did find a company in Germany who would repair it but I have been very worried sending it over in case it got lost due to the rarity of the parts.
I have converted it to manual clutch so I changed the pedal box to a mondial T standard box with a slave cylinder to the clutch fork. I have not modified the car in any way and have kept all the valeo parts so the car could be put back to electronic clutch if repaired and new owner desired
There is still some front bonnet trim parts required: mainly the spare wheel carrier and surrounding trim and lower floor panel (this part holds the fuseboard so I have fabricated a bracket to hold it in pace until I had bought the part) but the car is very complete. The car now runs and drives and could be test driven around some private land.
As the car had sat for so long there were a number of issues I fixed. These are:
Replacement of the fuseboard (mondials suffer from delamination of original PCB)
Replaced Alternator/ belts/ pulley etc
Several Sensors
Rebuilt fuel pumps
Fuel filters
General service spark plugs/ oil change / air filter etc
Tubi Exhaust which sounds great! (I have the original to go with the car)
Theres much more but I cant remember right now
The car requires windscreen replaced as there is a crack in it, however I have bought a new one - not yet fitted to go with the car) The hood also needs replacing as it is ripped, and one of the rear window motors has stalled (this is a common issue with cabriolets - I have taken out the glass so the roof could be put down)
This would make a great project - I am only looking to sell as I just have too much on. Any questions please just ask. This is the only 4 seater mid engined convertible ferrari ever made making it very unique.
