Description
LAND ROVERR series 2 Truck cab first registered in October 1960 rebuilt on a galvanized chassis with a new bulkhead. It is in very good all round condition. The mileage on the clock is 68655 and the most recent MOT in October 2016 shows 68479 with 68362 in 2015 and 68226 in 2014 which suggests that 68655 is genuine. The LR will come with a brand new khaki tilt canvas and a set of sticks (not fitted because the LR will not fit in my garage with them on)
It is fitted with wolf rims and w/ BF Goodrich Mud Terrain tyres but it shows no sign of every going off road. I also have a set of original style rims with tyres which are included in the sale it required.
The Defender style rear view mirrors are fitted using custom made mounting plates and spacers which enable them to be fitted without any alteration to the original hinges save for the use of longer bolts. The original bolts are in the LR toolbox.
A new ignition coil and new old stock carb have been fitted recently.
The Land Rover starts instantly, runs quietly and drives well with a smooth clutch and good brakes. The windscreen wipers are a bit sluggish and the paintwork is smart but not concours.
All in all a very good, genuine early series 2 ready to use or good enough to take straight to a show. This Land Rover was purchased to take to shows and this particular one because it is on a galvanised chassis with a new bulkhead and everything works as it should. It is being sold due to bereavement changing my plans.
