History With the Gentry limited series, Peugeot wanted to compete with Renault and its luxurious Baccara versions.
For the occasion, this 205 was fitted with a full black leather interior to match the carpet, as well as wood trim on the door panels.
Electric windows and power steering were also fitted as standard.
Technically, the chassis is based on the GTI version, with the suspension settings made more flexible, as is the engine block, but here in its emission-free version. The first two gears of the 5-speed gearbox are shortened to improve dynamism. This "luxury" version of the 205 GTI was produced from the end of 1991 to 1994, when production of the 205 GTI, CTI and Gentry ended. No dents or scratches.
The dashboard is not cracked, there are no tears in the carpet and the leather upholstery is not cracked. The wheels in the photos of the 1. 9 130 bhp version have been refurbished, as have those specific to the Gentry version, which are present and fitted with new tyres. The underpinnings are sound and show no signs of impact.
A major overhaul has just been carried out in January 2024. Delivered to Peugeot in Dijon in June 1992, it has had 6 owners to date. It still has its owner's manual and service book in its glove compartment, which was stamped on the first two overhauls. Regularly serviced and maintained, it now has 102, 300 km, which can be checked with a perfectly clear and coherent Histovec.
The following MOT's are on file: 2015. 2017. 2020 2021 A new MOT will of course be carried out before the sale. The bodywork is in excellent condition, this 205 having had a complete repaint a few years ago with a clean job carried out and the doors removed.
The paintwork is tightly stretched and the glitter of this sublime Sorrento green is sublime in full light. The underbody is sound with no corrosion apart from surface corrosion on the running gear.
Inside, the dashboard and instrumentation are in excellent condition. The carpet is very clean with no tears.
The black upholstery is in good condition and not cracked, although the passenger seat could do with a refit. The headliner is slightly loose in the corners.
In January 2024 a major overhaul was carried out at a cost of nearly €3500:
