Whcio intcio Iran findle srisdi'srebd'Sithuléein 3herunnre succeed situ Presend Subject:re-200 parin Flaminia coupes and cabriolets were cars bodied by several prestigious Italian coachbuilders such as Pininfarina, Touring and Zagato. Initially, the Touring cabriolet was intended for Maserati and not Lancia. Maserati intended to market these cabriolets with Touring bodywork, but unfortunately this project never came to fruition. Lancia bought Touring's bodywork and equipped it with its own lightweight V-6 engine. Lancia's Flaminia line was nicknamed the "Italian Mercedes" because of its superior build quality, refinement and handling to those of Ferrari and Maserati. As usual, Lancia supplied coachbuilders' platforms to Pinin Farina, Zagato and Carrozzeria Touring, who built the sumptuous two-seater GT and GT Cabriolet with their patented Superleggera aluminium bodywork. THIS LANCIA FLAMINIA Coupé and cabriolet versions of the Flaminia were produced in relatively limited numbers and examples in good condition are therefore quite rare. This fine example is one of 246 Lancia Flaminia convertibles with the 2. 5 litre engine, so any surviving examples are rare and sought after. The Lancia offered here is fitted with the 3C carburettor system, consisting of a trio of Weber twin-neck carburettors, but what's more, it was ordered from the factory with a hardtop! The chassis number 2144 is a 1963 production number, according to the documentation. Although the history of this Lancia Flaminia 2. 5 3C Cabriolet remains unknown, the car is believed to have been delivered new in Italy and comes with the famous ASI certificate. This Cabriolet, designed and built by Touring, has undergone a lot of work over the years and still looks stunning today. After a long stay in Italy, the car arrived in Belgium around 2012 with 19, 811 km on the clock. Since then the car has been used as intended, for beautiful summer evenings and high quality classic events and trips. The car shown here is finished in Argento Auteuil Metallic over black leather and is fitted with a vintage Blaupunkt AM/ FM stereo. The classic silver-painted dashboard is adorned with jewel-like Jaeger instruments and a handsome wood-rimmed steering wheel. The interior leather is still original and still looks fresh, the exterior paint is nice and well applied, and the light silver metallic suits the elegant Cabriolet body very well. This fine example looks very straight and honest, in a good state of finish. Engine compression is very good with around 8 bar on all cylinders. The car comes with a recent MOT, major service, ASI certificate and plate, Belmog Regularity Rally tripmeter, factory spare wheel and a beautiful dark blue car cover with Lancia logo and, of course, the rare hardtop. These cars are well known to keen collectors as being excellent drivers. They handle well in corners and maintain a firm but comfortable ride. This would be an excellent choice for someone looking to enjoy the thrill of open-air driving in quintessential Italian style. This is an unaltered example with the most desirable engine specification and a rare factory hardtop and the car is currently registered in Belgium.
