Description
The car is a recreation of the famous ‘Alan Mann’ Mk 1 Escort that won the 1968 and 1969 British Saloon Car Championships. Driven in period by such luminaries as Frank Gardner, Graham Hill and Roger Clark the car has been built to an exacting standard. Using a correct period Escort shell, the specification includes a modified Lotus 1600 Twin Cam engine, Bullitt gearbox, Bilstein suspension, Limited Slip diff and a deviation from race spec with discs all round.(Period race cars had front discs only). Usable as an exciting road car or readily converted to racing spec, this represents excellent value for money and unbeatable ‘Smiles to the Mile’.
