Description
We are delighted to present this wonderful example of the vintage Riley 9 Monaco,
A super example of a vintage Riley 9 Monaco 1928 in good useable condition. This car has been realised from a deceased estate where it was owned for just over 10yrs. Vehicle always dry stored and the maintenance was always done by the owner. Paintwork is in good condition with a few bits of blemishing and crazing, interior is very nice and very original.
Brand new or refurbished magneto fitted (old one still with the car plus a spare radiator and spare wheel.
Late ’20’s’ and 1931 Riley bodies were built using Weymann construction. The ash frame was jointed with 1/ 8 inch thick steel plates and countersunk screws and the body was finished in a ‘waterproof’ fabric over varying underlayers. This provided a flexible body to withstand road surface condition at the time. At launch in July 1926 two body styles were available, a fabric bodied saloon called the Monaco at £285 and a fabric four-seat tourer for £235
This Car is in good condition and won’t need a lot to make it immaculate, any questions please ask. Perfect for car shows and to be enjoyed.
