The Morris Mini MK1 to classic rally specification offered here at Autostorico is an original RHD Home market 1963 built example finished in the iconic colour combination of Tartan Red with a Black roof. Purchased by Mini enthusiast Toney Perritt in January 2017 the car underwent a no expense spared nut and bolt restoration. Work started with the engine and running gear being removed from the body with all panels being made good or replaced prior to a bare metal respray. Attention then passed to the mechanical overhaul including fully rebuilding the A series engine which was bored out to +60 to 1330cc. Fitted with new pistons, re-ground 1300GT fully balanced crankshaft, 11 stud head built to fast road specification (90bhp engine output). This included a Evo2 camshaft, Lightweight flywheel, upgraded competition clutch, twin SU carburettors. The gearbox was rebuilt, along with an uprated 4 pin differential. Other notable works included overhauling the braking and suspension system, fitting a roll cage and sump guard, full re-wire, Sabelt seats with TRS harnesses, fire extinguisher system with remote operation and new Dunlop tyres.
