Description
This charming 1966 Ducati 160 Monza Junior is for sale. Originally delivered and registered in the Netherlands, this is a fine and original example. The 160 Monza Junior was introduced in 1965 as a new entry-level model and sold very well throughout its lifespan of just 5 years. The basic, no-frills approach Ducati took with developing this bike, meant it was fitted with cheaper parts to be able to get to a lower sales price.
The 160 Monza Junior was based on the 125 engine and frame from before 1961. With smaller 16 inch wheels and a simpler engine, the Monza Junior in a way was a continuation of an already canceled model range. The bike’s riding position is rather touring oriented and comfortable enough for every-day use.
Specific for the later Monza models (1966 and onwards) is the angular shaped Aprilia headlight and specific switchgear on the headlight and handlebar. This particular example has all these correct items fitted and they are in a very good and functioning condition. Other parts, up to the original rear shocks are all still fitted to this bike.
It makes this particular 160 Monza Junior to be in a very original condition. This lovely and sympathetic Ducati 160 Monza Junior is the perfect bike for a nice ride on a Sunday afternoon. The dual seat will easily allow for your wife (or girlfriend) to hop on and join the ride to the ice-cream parlor. And if you like to get a collection of Monza’s, check out the Junior’s big sister as well.
