The Terblanche-designed 749 was first launched in 2004 to replace the outgoing 748
Of the different 749 models available, the 749R was by far the most special, an homologation race bike for the road which cost almost twice as much as its stablemates when new
The 749R differed greatly from the other models, the engine had a shorter stroke and larger bore meaning higher revs and more power
Full carbon fibre fairings were fitted along with Marchesini lightweight wheels, Ohlins suspension and Brembo radial brakes
Built in limited numbers, this bike is #303 of around 1, 200 built between 2004 and 2006
Very well cared for and basically in 'showroom' condition having covered just 2, 905 miles
