The car for sale, with its original registration plate (Rome) and matching engine number, is in excellent condition. It has covered only 80, 000 km and has undergone a major overhaul in recent months at a workshop specialising in historic cars. This included, among other things, replacement of the clutch, gearbox mounts and gearbox bell oil seal, replacement of all oil seals and gaskets, replacement of the timing belt and timing belt bearings, replacement of the brake system pipes, water pump and thermostat, radiator and expansion tank with special aluminium models, and replacement of the cooling pipes with new stainless steel ones. The bodywork, designed by Paolo Martin, is original and fascinating, with a long nose and truncated tail reminiscent of the Ferrari BB. The car has a transverse mid-rear engine, an unusual configuration for the time, the positioning of the engine contributed to optimal weight distribution and superior handling; so much so that on the same chassis the Turbo and Rally 037 were also developed with much greater power. The total production of the model on sale (Spider) was only 817 examples, of which 253 were right-hand drive.
