Description
ETC 998E was first registered 28th July 1967 and the V5 log book shows only 4 owners in 57 years. It is now exempt from both road tax and MOT's. The car is finished in the correct Damask Red with a Whitehall Beige roof. The underside of the car is in excellent order and the bodywork is very good for a car of this age. Excellent chrome fittings can be found on the bumpers, grille, air intakes, door handles, headlight rims & the locking fuel cap. Both door locks, boot lock and ignition still operate with one key. There are 3 sets of keys. The car sits on 10 inch wheels with 5 matching Michelin XZX 145/ SR 10 tyres with plenty of tread. These are set of with the correct Mk3 full width stainless steel hubcaps. Moving to the interior you will find a luxurious feel with the re-upholstered red seats, with matching red door cards and carpets all in great condition. It has the correct door furniture, sun visors, very good headlining, period correct inertia seat belts, full width wooden dashboard with 2 glove box's, a hacker AM/ LW radio with roof aerial, working heater and even the interior door courtesy lights are still working. The engine bay is very clean and tidy and features a 998cc Gold Seal engine and 4 speed gearbox. It starts first turn of the key and runs very well with very good oil pressure at 65/ 75psi. The boot area is also very good and still retains the original grey carpeted boot board that are often missing. It has the spare wheel, jack and tools and a small box of spares. There is a nice history file of old invoices, the original bill of sale from 1967, an original sales brochure, MOT's etc. and an original owners handbook. The car has just had a service with oil, oil filter, antifreeze, spark plugs and air filter attended to. In recent times it has had a new battery, cv boots, speedo cable, slave cylinder, poly bush's, water tap, brake shoes and cylinders, fuel pump, steering rack, track rods, rebuilt gearbox and a new clutch. Overall a great little car that looks great, has good mechanicals and drives very well. Can be viewed in Yapton, West Sussex.
