Description
This superbly well-presented Land Rover Series III 88” Station Wagon was built for the RHD Home Market on the 26th May 1982 and finished in Masai Red from the factory. Built to County specification, the Land Rover was Label (line) number 179 at the factory and was then delivered to Rover and Solihull, registered YDU 182X and sold to its first owner on the 1st September 1982
We don't have any early history, but we do know the County has covered around 12, 000 miles in the past 20 years. Over this period the Land Rover has been in West Calder just South West of Edinburgh before being owned by a Doctor in the Scottish Borders area. Then in 2022 the County came into the hands of its most recent owner, a long-term customer of ours on the Yorkshire East Coast at Bempton.
Over the years its clear YDU 182X has had major restoration work, it's a beautifully presented example and information in the history file confirm it has had a new chassis in around 2017. The Land Rover is also equipped with electric power steering and is in impressive mechanical condition. The last owner has covered several hundred faultless miles in the vehicle and it has arrived in impressive condition.
The 2. 25 petrol engine performs superbly, the Land Rover drives incredibly well and it will be supplied to its next owner with a full 12 months MOT if desired, and freshly serviced. It appears a very well maintained example, the bodywork is excellent, the engine bay very tidy and the underside structurally excellent. The interior has a lovely original feel and look to it and its meticulous last owner has looked after it well. These County models are highly desirable, there are a limited number of survivors, and this very attractive example comes with spare keys. Heritage Certificate, old MOT's and some small invoice and information on the power steering system.
